🙏...Somawathi Stupa....🌸

Somawathi Stupa🌼 is located in the middle of the jungle, in Polonnaruwa district and  located within the Somawathiya National Park🐘🐇 on the left bank of the Mahaweli River🌊.







 


From Polonnaruwa, you have to travel to Sungavila and then take a lengthy road which leads to the temple through the Jungle.


 They received the right side tooth relic of ''load Buddha'' from reverent 'arahath Mahinda thero.'🙏

The stupa is named after Princess Somawathi, the sister of King Kavantissa , and the wife of regional ruler Prince Giri Abhaya.

Reconstruction of this place  completed in 1981 with "Koth Peladavima".


 During the reconstruction, authorities decided to keep a small strip of the dageba, in the original look, with out plastering.


Somawathi Stupaya is considered as a place which eminates Buddha rays. There were several such incidence happenings in the recent past and many eye witnesses also. 💥💫🙏

Some times wild elephants🐘 used to come to this place and worship the stupa.




Also.. the annual Perahera and Katina Pinkam are will be held.🙇🔥




Today many pilgrims visit this place and many facilities established.💁

TRIP TO 😎💁..................

  .........TRIP TO SIGIRIYA and PIDURANGALA........... 😎 😎😍For a long time I like to go on a trip to sigiriya. I planned sigiriya trip with my friends.   We hired van to go trip.🚗 We left home at about 6.00a.m and reached Pidurangala around 8.40a.m🌞 Before we went pidurangala temple, we took our breakfast.🍞🍜 After that, we were climbed pidurangala rock. Top of pidurangla rock we can see sigiriya beautiful view.🌄 Around 1.00 o'clock 🕐 we took our lunch near a beautiful lake. 🍛🍻After taking our lunch, we were ready to go sigiriya.   Sigiriya is a very beautiful mountain. Sigiriya is a rock fortress that was built the king Kashyapa.💚 There is a lion's gate, mirror walls   and sigiri bithu situwam. We also took awesome 📷🕓 photos. About 6.00a.m we left sigiriya. It was enjoyable and an unforgivable memory for us...💁😍😎😎💁 Would love  to go on a fun trip with my friends again.........👫👭💓
