 Sri Maha Bodhi........🙏



Sri Maha Bodhi is a sacred acacia tree located in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. This was planted in 288 BC.



It is the oldest known tree in the world to have been planted by human hands and to date. 


This Sri Maha Bodhi is a southern branch of the Maha Bodhi in Buddhagaya, India, which was released when the Buddha attained Enlightenment.

The Bodhi tree was brought to Sri Lanka by Miss Sangamitta, the daughter of Emperor Ashoka.
 
She was a pioneer in establishing the Sri Lanka Bhikkhuni Sasana.

249 BC King Devanampiyatissa planted this Jaya Siri Maha Bodhi in the Maha Mevna Uyana in Anuradhapura.

It is revered by Buddhists in Sri Lanka today as well as around the world.

Buddhists have been coming to the island from far and wide to pay homage to the sacred Bodhi tree since time immemorial. Buddhists believe that offering sacrifices to the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi will bring significant and positive changes in their lives and bring blessings.

 Many Buddhists make a special offering to the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi in the future, wishing them success in their pursuit of various goals such as healing, childbirth, passing exams and employment. 

It is also a long standing tradition among the farmers of Anuradhapura to offer their first paddy harvest of the year to the Sri Maha Bodhi tree. The festival is called the "New Rice Festival".

 The Sri Maha Bodhi shines reverently as a tree that gave shade to the Buddha's enlightenment. Even today, the Bo tree is revered by many people and has a rich cultural heritage.

TRIP TO 😎💁..................

  .........TRIP TO SIGIRIYA and PIDURANGALA........... 😎 😎😍For a long time I like to go on a trip to sigiriya. I planned sigiriya trip with my friends.   We hired van to go trip.🚗 We left home at about 6.00a.m and reached Pidurangala around 8.40a.m🌞 Before we went pidurangala temple, we took our breakfast.🍞🍜 After that, we were climbed pidurangala rock. Top of pidurangla rock we can see sigiriya beautiful view.🌄 Around 1.00 o'clock 🕐 we took our lunch near a beautiful lake. 🍛🍻After taking our lunch, we were ready to go sigiriya.   Sigiriya is a very beautiful mountain. Sigiriya is a rock fortress that was built the king Kashyapa.💚 There is a lion's gate, mirror walls   and sigiri bithu situwam. We also took awesome 📷🕓 photos. About 6.00a.m we left sigiriya. It was enjoyable and an unforgivable memory for us...💁😍😎😎💁 Would love  to go on a fun trip with my friends again.........👫👭💓
